Aircraft and commercial studs

Dunham Products began its life producing studs used in the manufacture of aircraft fuel pumps. Today, we continue our tradition of strength producing studs for the aerospace industry.

Studs are externally threaded fasteners, usually threaded at both ends, and do not have a head. Studs are frequently preferred for aerospace fastener applications because the stud and nut configuration is stronger than using a bolt. When using a bolt, you are wearing out the threads in the tapped hole; when using a stud, you are only wearing out the threads on the stud nut end.

Dunham Products manufactures studs in the following materials, including DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive) compliant:

Ferrous:

  • Alloy Steels
  • Carbon Steels
  • MonelĀ®
  • Super Alloys
  • Stainless Steel

Non-Ferrous:

  • Aluminum
  • Brass
  • Bronze
  • Copper
  • Titanium

In addition, Dunham produces studs in the following configurations:

  • Fully-threaded
  • Single- and double-ended
  • Tap end studs
  • Standard or special pitch diameters available
  • Standard and metric sizes

Dunham can thread roll after heat-treating, which increases their strength, and are QSLM (Qualified Suppliers List for Manufacturers) certified for Class 2 and 3 Threaded Fasteners.
